How do I transfer to a University from Nomen Global and maintain my status?

Congratulations on mastering English at Nomen Global! ...but what’s the next step? Most of our students come to the US hoping to eventually enroll in a university. To do that you will need to transfer from our school to the school of your choice.

Here's a simple guide to help you:

  1. Research Universities: Look for universities that offer programs you're interested in and meet your academic goals. Learning where you are likely to be admitted and what programs you are interested in will provide you with the necessary knowledge to make an informed decision and avoid wasting money. Nomen Global frequently hosts college fairs to help acquaint you with nearby opportunities for university education.

  2. Contact the University: Reach out to the admissions office and express your interest in transferring. Explain your background and ask them what your options are. Some universities offer conditional letters of acceptance to Nomen Global students who have completed our level 6 program. It is important to speak with both your current school, and the school you are transferring to about your decision to transfer. If you remain in good academic standing there shouldn’t be any surprises during this step.

  3. Gather Documents: Collect your transcripts, test scores (if required), letters of recommendation, and proof of financial support. Nomen Global will help you access these records quickly and efficiently.

  4. Apply: Fill out the university's transfer application and submit all necessary documents by the deadline.

  5. Obtain a Transfer I-20: If your new university is in a different state or country, you may need a new I-20 form. Contact the university's international student office for assistance.

  6. Update SEVIS: Your current school will update your SEVIS record to reflect the transfer.

  7. Transfer Your Visa: If necessary, consult with the embassy or consulate about transferring your visa.

Remember: The specific requirements may vary between schools. It's essential to start the process early and plan ahead.
