Language Proficiency Scale

The Nomen Global Language Proficiency Scale (LPS) is an English competency scale comparable to ACTFL or CEFR and is the basis for Nomen Global's leveling system. LPS levels are determined during a short entrance exam, after which, students are placed in a classroom with others of a similar English competency. These levels are designed to mix students of slightly varying degrees of English proficiency in order to deepen and accelerate the learning process. This ensures that no one is left behind and that everyone gets to learn at their own pace. If after placement you feel that you need to move up or down a level our team is happy to work with you to help you feel as comfortable as possible as you begin your learning journey.

Below you will find descriptions of each of the levels found on the Language Proficiency Scale and their comparative ACTFL and CEFR levels of English proficiency.
